Welcome to the Music Department

Pursue your passion for music at TFC!
The Music Department exists to prepare Christian musicians for careers in performance, teaching, church music, and various music-related vocations. Students develop and share their God-given abilities by participation in ensembles, recitals, concerts, service projects, and ministries. Through these experiences, the Music Department brings the whole person into the learning process through the integration of curricular and co-curricular activities and provides for the integration of faith and learning, together with character and intellect. This approach, along with courses in music theory, music history, performance, aural skills, music technology, the humanities, and Bible theology, gives students the skills to become highly valuable in their chosen field.
New trends in music, both within the evangelical church and in the world at large, are seen on our campus. Toccoa Falls College is a community of diverse cultures and students are encouraged to explore music’s diversity from contemporary Christian, jazz, classical, folk, gospel, opera, and world music.

The Toccoa Falls College Music Department is proud to announce that Naomi Meadows won First place (Outstanding Performer – Conference Recitalist) the Georgia Music Teachers Association Competition on Saturday, April 7th. The competition was held in Athens, and Naomi competed in the lower college division. A native of Athens, Georgia, Naomi is currently a sophomore at Toccoa Falls College where she is majoring in Music Performance. She has been playing the piano for 11 years and also sings. When asked what it was she enjoyed about competitions, Naomi stated, “It’s good to have goals. Goals keep you motivated, and it’s encouraging when your efforts pay off.” Naomi also stated her Music Professor, Dr. You Ju Lee, had been instrumental in her success and had the greatest impact on her playing the piano. “I actually chose TFC because of Dr. Lee,” Meadows stated. “She cares so much for her students. She even gives extra lessons during the day. She’s always doing something to help her students succeed.”
